About Our Sessions

Are you a registered nursery or school?

No. Ambitions First Education is an early learning and development provider, not a registered nursery, pre-school or school. Our sessions are play-based learning and development groups for young children, and they are not a replacement for school or for registered childcare.

What ages do you work with?

We work with children from around 18 months to five years. Children are grouped by stage so that activities match what they are ready for, and we will suggest a group when you get in touch.

How many children are in a group?

Groups are kept small and the same practitioners work with the same children each week, so every child is known by name. Tell us your child’s age and we will explain how the groups are currently arranged.

What training do your practitioners have?

Every member of the team has experience of working with young children, and training records are kept on site. We are happy to talk through the team’s training and experience with you when you visit.

Where do your sessions take place?

Our sessions run in our own learning rooms, arranged so that children can move between quieter activities, messy play and space to move. The full address and directions are on the Contact page, and we send arrival details when you book.

Sessions, Timings and Booking

Do you offer a taster session?

Yes. You can book a single taster session before you decide, with no commitment to continue afterwards.

Can parents stay?

Yes, there is a stay and play session designed for a grown-up and their child together. For the other groups we plan a settling-in period and agree with you what works best for your child.

What does a session look like?

Sessions follow the rhythm set out on our Daily Rhythm page: a calm welcome, a block of play-based learning, a break to eat and rest, and time outdoors. Session times for your group are confirmed when you book.

How do I book a place?

Send us your child’s age and the days that suit you using the form on the Contact page. We will tell you which group has space, confirm the fee in writing, and send the booking forms to complete before your child’s first session.

What if we need to change or cancel a session?

Tell us as soon as you can. We will confirm whether the session can be moved and how it affects your booking, so that there are no surprises.

What should my child bring?

Spare clothes, nappies if they are still in them, a water bottle and outdoor clothing for the weather. Children staying for a holiday learning day should bring a packed lunch from home.

Does my child need to be toilet trained?

No. We work with children who are still in nappies and with children who are learning to use the toilet. Spare clothes and nappies are all we ask you to send.

What happens if my child is unwell?

Please keep your child at home and let us know. We will explain how the session can be rearranged, and we ask families to keep children away until they are well enough to take part.

Fees and Payment

How much do sessions cost?

A taster session is £12. Regular programme sessions are £32 to £58 depending on the group, a parent and toddler drop-in is £14, sibling places are £28 and holiday learning days are £46 per day. Full prices are on the Programmes page.

Are there lower prices for brothers and sisters?

Yes. A sibling place is £28, and holiday learning days are £46 per day for each child. Tell us the ages of your children when you get in touch and we will set out the options for you.

How do I pay, and what am I paying for?

You are given a written summary of the sessions and the total before you confirm anything. Payment is arranged when you book, and you can ask for a receipt at any time.

Your Child’s Information and Support

How do you handle my child’s information?

Information about your child is provided by you, as their parent or carer, and you give your consent for us to hold it. We keep only what we need to care for your child safely, and we do not share it with anyone else without your agreement. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

What if my child needs extra support?

We offer one-to-one learning support sessions in a quieter setting. Tell us what your child needs and we will suggest how that could work alongside their group session.

Do you take photographs of the children?

Only with your written permission. You can say no, or change your mind later, and it will not affect your child’s place. Where photographs are taken, children are not named alongside the image.

Who is allowed to collect my child?

Only the adults you have named in writing. You give us those details when you book, and you can update them at any time.

How do we arrange a first visit?

Get in touch through the Contact page and we will arrange a time for you to see the rooms and talk through your child’s needs before you book anything.
