Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Ambitions First Education collects, why we hold it, and the rights you have over it. We are the data controller for that information.

Information We Collect

For each child attending our sessions we hold the child’s first name, date of birth, the age group they attend and any allergy, medical or additional-needs notes you choose to give us. We also hold the parent, guardian or carer’s name, phone number and email address, and an emergency contact. We may hold short progress notes that we write about a child’s session.

Where It Comes From and Our Lawful Basis

All information about a child is provided by their parent, guardian or carer, and we rely on your consent to hold and use it. We rely on our legitimate interest in running sessions safely for administrative records, and we keep emergency information because we have a duty to keep children safe while they are with us.

How We Use It

We use this information to plan sessions, to keep children safe, to contact you about sessions and to share progress notes with you. We do not use children’s information for marketing, profiling or automated decision making.

Who We Share It With

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with people who need it to run the sessions, such as members of our team, or with a medical professional in an emergency. We would only share it with anyone else if you asked us to, or if the law required it.

How Long We Keep It

We keep a child’s record for as long as they attend our sessions and for a short period afterwards in case there is a query, after which it is deleted. You can ask us to delete your child’s record sooner by contacting us.

Your Rights

You have the right to see the information we hold about your child, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict how we use it and to withdraw your consent. To use any of these rights, email service@ambitionseducation.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Children’s Information and Minimisation

We ask for as little information about a child as we can, we hold it only with the consent of their parent, guardian or carer, and we do not publish or share photographs or information about a child without separate, specific consent.
